Guided Meditation for Motivation: 10 Minutes
Guided Meditation Script for Motivation
This meditation is designed for you to practice while you are doing whatever it is that you need to be motivated to do, as long as this activity is safe.
If you’d rather, you can sit in meditation to practice this. Either way, you will experience the benefits of feeling motivated at the end of this meditation.
Begin by breathing through your nose, holding it at the top, and when you’re ready, exhale with a sigh.
At the end of this breath just return to breathing at a pace that is comfortable for you…feeling your chest expand with every inhale and exhale. Breathing in through your chest instead of through your abdomen gives you more energy, however, if whatever you need motivation to do, gives you a little bit of stress, then also breathe allowing your stomach to expand in addition to your chest.
Allow yourself to become keenly aware of the sensations inside your body. If you currently feel unmotivated, lean into what feeling a lack of motivation looks like inside your body.
Now allow yourself to become ready to experience movitation.
The energy center that helps you feel motivated is your sacral chakra, located approximately two inches below the navel and approximately two inches inwards.
Really focus on that area of your body as you listen to these affirmations and feel them as your truth.
Breathe in, I’m willing to feel motivated.
Breathe out, I welcome in motivation.
Breathe in, I know I am capable.
Breathe out, I welcome in motivation.
Breathe in, I’m ready to do this.
Breathe out, I can.
Breathe in, I am motivated.
Breathe out, anything is possible.
Breathe in, I know what I’m doing.
Breathe out, I know I can handle this.
Breathe in, I totally got this.
Breathe out, I’m ready.
And breathe in extra deeply as you hold your breath at the top and notice, how what once felt like a lack of motivation, now feels like motivation, and when you’re ready, exhale with a sigh. Now that you’ve begun to shift into a state of motivation, notice where it lives in your body and how it feels. Be open willing and ready for motivation to flow through you in the easiest, highest way.
Allow yourself to create your own statements of being motivated, as you continue to focus on how motivation feels within your body. On every inhale, let this feeling expand. And on every exhale, feel appreciation towards it.
If it feels right to you, place your hands on your hips as you affirm out loud: “I know I can do this. I am motivated.”
Take a long deep inhale through your nose, hold it at the top…feel this motivation build and when you’re ready, exhale with a sigh. As you begin to take these feelings of motivation with you, wiggling your fingers and toes, bringing your awareness back to the room around you, feeling motivated and ready for whatever lies ahead.
Motivation Meditation: 20 Minutes
Motivation Meditation Script
Welcome to this powerful meditation to get you motivated.
Make sure you are positioned comfortably for the duration of this session. Take three deep breaths at your own pace…
and on the last breath, let your eyes close…
Bring your awareness to something that motivates you… what popped in your mind?
(pause)
Simply observe how your body and mind react to this image or thought that appeared…
(pause)
There is no wrong answer. We all experience different thoughts in response, and all thoughts are valid. Allow your mind to meditate on what motivates you, unchallenged. Do not judge yourself.
What motivates you?
(pause)
Sometimes, we may feel a lack of motivation. Something we feel we must do, or perhaps even want to do, but that we can’t seem to find the energy for.
(pause)
Observe this feeling of not being motivated with compassion… It is ok to feel unmotivated from time to time, so do not be too hard on yourself.
(pause)
Though this is unwanted behavior, it happens to even the best of us.
(pause)
So now, breathing, and sinking just a little bit deeper into the depths of your own mind, know this: that if you are willing to show up, you are willing to be transformed by whatever it is you are doing…. For the better…
(pause)
Simply showing up is enough to be a catalyst for success.
(Pause)
Just sitting down in front of whatever it is you know you must do, but have a lack the motivation towards, is the beginning of powerful motivation.
(pause)
That is enough.
The act of doing is where the bliss is hidden…. When you proceed in doing, this bliss is revealed to you as a reward.
So see yourself doing something you may have been previously unmotivated to do….
(pause)
Now see yourself unlocking the happiness of accomplishment along the way…
(pause)
All tasks, however large or small, contain within them the ability to produce a state of flow. Being in a nice flow is considered an optimal state of being. Flowing produces motivation…
(pause)
When people of various backgrounds the world over are asked to describe the moments in their life in which they felt the happiest, they all describe behaviors, patterns, and experiences that define flow.
(pause)
Notice the flow of your breath…
(pause)
The flow of these words…
(pause)
The flow of this meditation…
(pause)
One of the easiest experiences to identify with flow is noticing the disappearance of time. A moment where suddenly, looking towards the clock and discovering that two hours has gone by out of nowhere.
(pause)
That is when you were caught in the flow of life.
(pause)
Immersing yourself in a task with this effortless flow is easier than you think…
The tasks that most consistently produce this sensation of timeless flow within us, ends up being what we pursue for the rest of our lives. Bringing us the most joy…
Remember now those times when you were caught in the flow of motivation…
(pause)
What causes you to lose your sense of time?
(pause)
Become aware that all tasks hold this bliss, if you only allow it. If you value the process of doing, and the product of your doing, you come to find that simply starting the process with the right attitude is enough to get you motivated.
(pause)
The process itself, the act of doing, is where the bliss resides. Remember this important piece of information… the act of doing, creates true bliss.
(pause)
This is where the flow is, this state of optimal being experienced by all humans the world over.
So, if you feel unmotivated to do something, ask yourself why you are unmotivated. Does the task seem inherently boring to you? Or perhaps it is too challenging? Maybe you fear imminent failure.
(pause)
These are merely common concerns, typical thoughts that one may experience while feeling unmotivated.
Observe these thoughts as if they are coming out of a loud speaker…
(pause)
Now, turn that loud speaker around, and hold it to your mouth in your imagination…
And say out loud, with confidence…
“I am motivated…
I complete tasks in record time…
I have clear intentions, so I accomplish things with ease…
I deserve to be successful…
I am always motivated to get more done than I planned…
My mind is focused and my energy is clear…
I am motivated to exercise…
I am motivated to cook healthy foods…
I don’t look for easy things, I look for challenging things…
I push myself because no one else will but me…
Motivation starts when I start a task…
Willpower is something that comes naturally to me…
I reach my goals through the power of dedication…
Being motivated may not come easy, but it is rewarding…
My life is full of purpose…
I am confident in what I do and that, in turn, makes me motivated…
I am so motivated that others are inspired by me to become motivated themselves…”
Good…
Shout these affirmations to every level of your awareness…
(repeat affirmations quickly)
Whenever you are ready, rise from your meditation feeling more motivated than you ever have before.
